On August 25 2022 the Committee for the Caianiello Award (Proffs. Anna Esposito, Giancarlo Fortino, Carlo Francesco Morabito, and Eros Pasero) carefully evaluated the theses received by adopting the following criteria:


  1. Number of publications in journals Q1 (score 10 for each journal)
  2. Number of publications in Q2 journals (score 8 for each journal)
  3. Number of publications in all other journals (score 7 for each journal)
  4. Number of publications in conferences listed A and B in the GRIN List (score 7 for each conference)
  5. Number of publications in all other conferences (score 5 for each conference)
  6. Year of thesis discussion normalization coefficient is 1 for 2022, .75 for 2021 and .50 for 2020
  7. Thesis score is based on:
    • Originality (score A=10, B=8, C=6, D=4)
    • IMPACT (based on SCOPUS/WoS citations, score A=10, B=8, C=6, D=4)
    • Clarity of method (score A=10, B=8, C=6, D=4)


Based on these evaluations:

The 1st prize, i.e. a compensation of 500 Euros (offered by the IEEE Italian Chapter on System Man a Cybernetic, and a free registration at WIRN meeting (equivalent to 200 Euro including the social dinner, offered by SIREN), has been assigned to:

ANTONIO BRUNETTI, Polytechnic University of Bari.


The 2nd prize, i.e. a free registration at WIRN meeting (equivalent to a compensation of 200 Euros including the social dinner), has been assigned ex equo to:

TERRY AMORESE, Università della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”
VINCENZO RANDAZZO, Politecnico di Torino


The three winners are required to give during the WIRN 2022 a 10 minutes presentation of their thesis on Wed 7 Sept at 9, at the beginning of the WIRN Conference.
