Thinking Machines: myth or reality? A nearly agnostic perspective

Prof. Francesco Palmieri

University of Salerno

Abstract

The idea of thinking machines may be very challenging, and at the same time questionable, mainly for those who don’t “natively” come from the neural networks world. We’ll briefly discuss, mainly according to a connectionistic point of view, how this concept evolved in the last years and whether available technologies can lead to realistic results and promising perspectives.
