Siren President Welcome

Dear Colleagues,

It is with the greatest pleasure that I welcome you to the NEW homepage of the Italian Society of Neural Networks (SIREN).

The Italian Society of Neural Networks (SIREN) is the oldest Italian neural society, founded in 1989. It was created from an intuition of Prof. Eduardo Caianiello who in 1988 gathered some of the most representative Italian scientists in the field of neuroscience in Vietri, he found hospitality at the IASS headquarters in Vietri sul Mare. Every year we organize the international conference WIRN as a comparison of the Italian research groups with the most significant international researchers.

This year starts with a great hope for all of us to have our lives back and is also carrying memories and experiences that we never have thought to accumulate. However, as often happens in the greatest crises, it has been also the opportunity for big changes, an “accelerator”. It forced us to think out of the box and gave us the trigger to make decisions and moves that were already growing and waiting to mature.
